The one that got away
Is one you never really had 
Someone worthy would’ve stuck around
Through the good and the bad

The one that get away
Only did you a favor 
Because that’s not a flavor 
That you really wanna savor

The one that got away 
Was only around for the good
They wouldn’t stick by you in hard times
Like a real man or woman would

The one that got away
Really didn't elude you
They only out the way 
So that you could do you

The one that got away
Wasn't the one at all
But the sum of all the other lames 
With whom you shan’t involve
