The Old Post Office

Last Saturday, my husband and I went for a ride,
To enjoy the sunshine and the countryside.
First, we stopped to eat:
What a treat...
The place we chose was not posh,
You could not find much better nosh.
Homegrown salad greens sold there,
Homemade Pies, excellent fare,
New laid eggs from their chooks
I think Paree is where they get their cooks.
Not a sign of show or glitter,
And you would not need a babysitter,
Children are welcome with open arms,
This place is full of ambience and charm,
It is also a fodder store
And an old Post office and there is much more
To this rustic retreat.
It has history and character,
That would be hard to beat.
Friendly staff, efficient too.
Their priority is looking after you.
All-natural, wholesome and clean,
Somethings today that is seldom seen

Hello Shirley ... good old country hospitality; yes, it can't be beaten, but now it is much harder to find - thank you Shirley - Lindsay

Hello Lindsay, Buildings and houses aren't built by craftsmen anymore today, sadly. Many things today lack the charm and character of yesterday. I hope you are having a peaceful, happy holiday season. Take care Shirley.

Oh, this is really a good one, Shirley. I enjoyed it. We have an old Post Office here in town that should be turned into something useful.

Thank you, Milt. It is such a shame that these solidly built old buildings are left to decay. They are full of character and charm. Not like the bland basic boxes that seem to be going up today. The builders took pride in their work, and it shows in the end result. it is not only the housing that is weak and characterless today.
