The Old Days

I said to my husband, “I couldn’t stay up
To watch for the tennis match end.
In the old days, I’d never have fallen asleep –
On that you could surely depend.”

My spouse came right back with this perfect retort:
“There is so much that age won’t allow,
But you should be aware, if you aren’t, that, duh,
You are living the old days right now!”
