The Offense
Sometimes a human's smallest act
can cause a big misunderstanding.
Some eyes see only a slice of the fact,
so they let pride rule their heart.
They take offense at the slightest deed,
building fables into their mind's wall.
This poison awakens the sense of greed
and shrouds the human being in darkness.
A hurting soul keeps the fire lit,
rejecting the healing balm of forgiveness.
This grudge opens up an emotional pit,
brewing a storm of anger within.
Many lives are fractured from this evil stress,
while the ember of bitterness begins to form.
Hurt burns through love's cleansing dress,
letting the offense mold the human soul
