The Nurse
Your eyes glued on the heart monitor
With a beating heart you count the heart beat
The ailing whether Paula or Peter
For him you fight ailment’s Afreet
Their sinking pulse pricks your heart
Their high BP torments your soul
Increased urea pierces you like dart
Much beyond your duty is your role
Patients are left in your tender care
And meticulous vigilance of night and day
Your resolute dedication, your qualities rare
With no one in attendance in the sickbay
Scary and smelly wounds you soothe
With courage infectious afflictions deal
You fight with sufferings nail and tooth
For care of patients, medication and meal
For sick and ailing you sacrifice night’s sleep
Resisting summon of your lover’s cozy arms
Your heart bleeds with affection deep
Your energy flows with divine charms
