The Now

You say I'm your fondest memory And while I know that this is true I don't want to be just a distant thought I'd rather be there anew. Old memories grow dim and fade with time But my attachment to you is strong And confining it all to a scrapbook Somehow seems all wrong I'll always be part of your history But don't cut me out of today Don't make me part of a moment You remember fondly then put away Don't ask me to just be a memory Because frankly, I just don't know how Yes, I'd love to be part of forever But I still want to live in your now.
