The Night's Alive and A-Shiver

~ The night's alive and a-shiver ~

  The moon's a sliver
  a hammock without strings
  a pale banana with wings
  The night's alive and a-shiver

Just you and me on a musical spree
hitting the clubs, dancing up a storm
sleek in our costumes, displaying fine form
Doing the splits cross the floor, spread-kneed

The hour grows late, but what do we care
  feeling boundless energy nearly exploding
at midnight we drink a toast to re-loading
Ahead of us lay new and brave dares

Tick-tock, one o'clock; it is already two
Our hearts are still young, but our feat feel weary
We retreat to a corner, vision somewhat bleary
So we sing Auld Lang Syne and down a few...

Brrrrrriiiing goes the alarm. 6 am. Can it be?
Time to shake a leg, get out ahead of the day
The music and dancing yet whirling in our heads
We turn off the blinking alarm, and go back to bed

GrEaT poetic meter, Wolf Man! Nickname is heart said in a good way. lol! You have such a voracious appetite for life ... as aptly described in this poem. I agree w/Richard ... your ink figurative expression of the Lunar Rock is not of this Earth, or rather, it's otherworldly stunning. Absolutely an instant PSoup classic in my menu book of muse bon appétit. Love and smiles and smiles of joy this holiday season.

Hey, thanks for the Love, Freddie...and as for my name, LOL. Here's a bone-tickler: My last name's really Itzkovitz! (Son of Isaac/Yitzchok) My grandfather changed it to protect his very (Jew) life. So nothing about 'Wolf' could ever bother me. Thanks for your conern, though. Peace and Joy, my friend! :)

Btw ... I definitely was NOT intentionally giving a bad rap to your surname in my poem, "My Bleating Heart." G. Wolf, you're one of the good oomans on this alien planet. lol! Love and more love always, bruh.

“A hammock without strings” what a cool description of the moon. I’ve had my share of these evenings. My buddies and I would head out to Stages on Wednesdays for ladies night. Out late and up early Thursday to go to work.
