The Night Before Christmas
The night before Christmas the North Pole elves were agog
Teasing each other with promises of laced up eggnog.
Mrs. Claus was scolding, teasing them with brownies so sweet.
They knew to work faster if they wanted this incredible treat.
Santa was taking a luxurious swim in his pool.
He knew he’d have to be relaxed, he was no Christmas fool.
The workshop was buzzing with chitter and chatter going amuck.
The overseer was watching closely, his name Mr. Puck.
The reindeer were playing the games they liked best.
The barnyard guardian was warning them to get some rest.
Gingerbread cookies were warming in the North Pole kitchen.
Santa’s toes were pointed south, traveling in them simply itch’n.
