The Night Before A New Beginning

Waiting for the clock to strike twelve, I idly threw myself on my cozy bed. Sniffing the pleasantly sweet smell, From my window, all spread. Listening to my neighbors' happy talks, A smile pops up on my face. Leaving me engaged in a pool of thoughts, And making my heart rapidly race. With curiosity building up within me, About the upcoming New Year. I sneakily headed to my window to see, My neighbors were ready with the cake to cheer. Balloons, candles, and Cake, Decorated elegantly on their porch. Staying all night awake, Impatiently looking at the watch. With only two more minutes to go, We patiently waited for the right time. Time went too slow, And it felt like an unpunishable crime. When the minute hand and hour hand met, And all of us celebrated with joy. Like the clock being reset, To the beginning again; we cheer up and enjoy. Fireworks spread all over the sky, Sparkling brightly like Fireflies. Bringing new hopes and lifting our spirits high, Thus becoming a feast for the eyes. Celebrations and events worldwide, Bidding farewell to the previous year. People welcome the new year with pride, Throwing aside their worries and fear. I came back to my bed again, And snuggled into my duvet. Memories of this night remain, Indelible to the people on this planet.
