The News Came Down Today
The news came down today
That you had passed away
One of the thin blue line
Whose life and mine were entwined
And I was taken back to then
To those days when we could see no end
And we stood together in the blue
I knew that I could rely on you
So you have passed away now
And your past life takes a bow
I know when my time comes to its end
You’ll be there to greet me as my friend.
