The New Sunrise
Looking back through the dark corridor of twenty twenty,
I find myself in the maze of unforeseen problems aplenty.
When the pandemic descended unushered out of the blue,
forced the world populace to track lives in a course new.
As the unseen danger menacingly pervaded, looming large,
creeping uncertainty took stealthily everything in its charge,
pushed busy and bustling people into imposed isolation,
the gloomy times dropped a heavy curtain of desolation.
Amidst the extended duration of this dire spell of duress,
hope still survived, didn’t let the frail morale to depress.
I waited with fortitude for the year to end for new sunrise,
the reassuring nascent dawn will reward safety, I’ll prize.
With the blessings of Almighty, surely twenty twenty one
in its turn will return to me the life I lost, before it’s done.
