The Nephew

Almost a year since first breath drawn Into tiny lungs of my precious little one Innocent eyes, wide and filled with wonder Exploring over, around, and under Outstretched arms beg for a lift Into my arms, God's precious gift He giggles and smiles when he's in my arms Wins the world over with endearing charms Everyone's a sucker for his cute little grins Hearts will melt when grins mix with squints He sleeps with his rear stuck up in the air And has this little tail in back of his hair He staggers when he walks Like he's had too much wine He's learning still But he's doing just fine I never imagined that one little kid Could change our lives the way this one did A cherubic face and a stocky little frame This angel, my nephew, Brody is his name.
