The Nature of God and Man
Foolish man strays from the teaching of God
Then, God in mercy wields his harsh rod
He sends an “obamanation” to show us we stray
And manifold suffering comes into play
This “ravenous bird from the east” he has sent
To show us clearly that his patience is spent
In olden times this retribution was the same;
When Israel was rebuked and shown her great shame
God is slow to punish “to the third generation”
And deems our punishment to be our salvation.
We should now repent of the great evil we’ve done,
And return to the worship of the Father and Son.
