The Narcissist
You’re pathetic not athletic
academic more dyslexic
in a daydream build your ego
the vulnerability will grow
you protect it become septic
isolation you’re rejected
a narcissist that won’t accept it
making up all they’ve projected
It’s because you’ve failed so much
won’t accept you’re out of touch
not the life you thought you’d live
what you get is what you give
too lazy to make the effort
getting nothing getting desperate
find a skill that you’ve perfected
the competition undetected
self applause and giving praise
thinking everyone’s amazed
keep on smoking cannabis
in reality your skill’s a miss
only you think it exists
in your head with all the bliss
you think you’re a real good mate
when you’re the opposite of great
expecting favours not returned
receiving all the love you’ve earned
now you feel you’re hard done by
play the victim spread the lie
actions speak louder than words
you have been abandoned first
but you try to explain why
tell the world their head ain’t right
like you’re God’s most perfect work
the fact is you’re a selfish jerk
you got what you never gave
the selfishness that you displayed
confused when people walk away
their actions beat the words you say
you believe what you say is true
who cares when it’s all about you
