The Naples Pier
They held my feet and many more
Those shattered planks ripped from the shore
Anonymous splinters now scattered to sea
Once proudly stood outside the lee
That giving extension of the sand
Once lifted our souls from the land
A bench to rest a rail to lean
A place of wonder and told serene
It gifted the site of dolphin or two
Delivered each day its readied view
It still stands proud in my mind
A pier, a view, and more entwined
