Notes About The Poem

The N Word

I am a very old senior white male. At 10 years of age I was playing with two black friends when a bully who was white and twice our size started calling my Friends the N word so my friends ran away and so did I.
I never heard the word before this was the first time even though half my school was black.
I went home and asked my Mother what it meant.
She wrote the word down the left side of the page and said .....
The word is an acrostic son it means .....

N ever

You brilliant. You ticked me off just a tad; then again I am left wondering... how you feel right now about the N word. I've got my eyes on you.

Hi, Just reviewing some comments.. You were wondering how I feel right now about the N word. To answer your question read my poem He Was Black. It's 17 from the bottom of my list of poems for your answer. Poetry Hugs

Hi Cal. Racism is so terrible. All those bullies don't realise that blood is the same colour even if the exterior is not and everyone has feelings. Love the acrostic of the N word. Brilliant!
