The Mystic Light Inside
I have a mystic light inside,
A light that I try to hide
A light that no one is allowed to see
It is the spiritual side of me.
If you saw me in the street
And if by chance we were to meet
You would think I'm ordinary
But that's the human side of me.
Sometimes when I am in bed.
I closed the book that I had read.
Suddenly as I close my eyes.
I see myself in some disguise.
Tonight I might choose Captain hook,
As Peter Pan was the fantastic book
I read before I nodded off in bed
My head lifts off of my pillow
I feel as wispy as a willow
Fancy-free and light as air
I can float anywhere.
Even to never land
That's what I had planned.
But this was not to be
It was too breathtaking for me.
Floating aimlessly among the stars,
Maybe I'll space travel to mars
Or Venus, the planet of love
And spiritual places up above.
All the Galaxies that I pass
All glitter-like brilliant Chrystal glass
The milky way dazzled me
And the spectacle made me gasp
As this majestic journey unfurled.
I'd realised I'd travelled to another world.
I know you'll say it was a dream,
And maybe things are not as they seem.
But you don't see the mystic light in me
It's only the human side I show to thee.
