The Mystery

Nothing more than a mystery
This thing that we call love
Is it a blessing or just a curse
That we keep dreaming of?

Love can make you laugh and cry
As confusing as that may sound
It can make you happy and sad
This mystery we have found

Love can cause you heartache
Endless guilt and pain
It can make you be someone you're not
A phenomenon we can't explain

Love has no directions
And we often lose our way
We end up following bad advice
Of what other people say

Love can't happen on its own
It takes two to make it real
When two hearts beat as one
It's something we can feel

Love is born in silent places
That only our hearts can see
Nurtured by our hungry souls
It will last eternally
