The Muse Comes Home

Come in my friend, now don't be shy.
Was lost without you, can't deny.
I sat among the leaves of life,
But, could not find a single tree.
Floated water vast and wide,
In search of waves upon the sea.
Come in my friend, you're welcome here.
Sit down beside me, melt my fear.

Believing you had left me friend,
Creative thoughts came to an end.
I searched the mountains, streams, and skies.
Paged frantically through books of verse.
But all I found were thoughts that I,
Must be the victim of a curse.
Please, sit down in the chair right there.
I've got a pen, Let's go somewhere.

Ya, I feel lost and panicked when it happens. A couple of days isn't bad especially since it has been gone for years a time or two. Thanks, Mark.... Robert.

I'm so happy you enjoyed this one, Ingrid. Ya, it's a bit scary when the muse is gone. But, it always comes home. I'll be reading more of your poetry very soon....Robert.

ahhh, this is cute!!! And it was so clever the way you expressed your desire for the muse by using very imaginative lines about water without waves and leaves with out a tree. Methinks the muse was there with you all the while!!
