The Muse

The muse that wanders through my life My friend, companion, my loving wife The path before me dark as night She bathes the way with gentle light And takes my hand and leads the way Through troubled waters night and day And when the evening falls like rain She takes me to her bed again “You’re safe” she says, “Now rest your head You weary nomad, here in my bed. Safe and sheltered from the storm That welcomes soon the dawning morn.” A new day dawns before us breaking Walk beside me hand in hand The path before us that we’re taking Fraught with risks like shifting sand We’ll walk together, you and me Through thick and thin the journey be And when each day is done at last I know tomorrow too will pass But with you walking by my side Loving, caring, and sharing life My feelings true, forever faithful My love, my friend, my gentle wife
