The Moon and the Star

There was once a star who had no home

Though she was in the sky with other stars she felt all alone

She was different from them her light was not so bright

The other stars cast her out she was scared to fight

To make them see she belonged in their sky

That’s why she was up so high

She was special like them why can’t they see

That inside of her was a strong aura yearning to be free

But the more she tried the father away they stayed

The star ran out of ideas and gave up there was no winning this game

She was different and there was nothing more she could do

She decided she would do them a favor this she would see through

Go into supernova and be gone from that lonely place

Nothing would be left not even a trace

As she got far enough so not to hurt the others something flew by

A moon so far out here was a sight for soar eyes

She approached it and asked why he was here

The other moons hate me because I’m smaller they made that clear

So I ran over here to escape

I feel so alone and then moon drops feel from him like a lake

The star felt sad for the moon so she went in for a hug

As soon as she came close she lit up and felt a rush of love

The star had never felt this before

Something powerful had began to occur like a storm

You did it she said to the moon I’m brighter then I can be

As she turned to the moon she saw he was smiling like a beautiful dream

I’m not small any more I can’t believe this is happening

The moon and star had made each other strong they were now laughing

From that day they never left each other’s side

There was no need to run and hide

Sometimes in life it takes another to make you see

And together they can bring out each other’s best qualities
