The Moon and Stars
I heard a voice in the wind - it whispered softly to me,
words of wisdom quietly spoken,
Only the moon and stars bore witness- for these were the words of hope,
these were the words of liberation- listen with your heart- for you may hear them too.
I walked quickly to my home- to my whitewashed house by the sea,
the place of my solitude- where my mirror still hangs precariously on the wall,
the moon and stars lit my way- though I knew it well- who would not worship the night skies help,
And, there the fireplace awaited me.
