The Monster In Me

I have beast in me - it's ripping apart my rib cage;
It's staring at me with black eyes - oh so filled with rage;
It claws at my back - etching scars within my skin;
No matter how hard I try - this monster always wins;
I hear his growl in my ears - in one and out the other;
I thought one monster was enough - but soon I had another and another;
They attempt to smash my bones and rip away my insides;
It feels as if, no matter hoe strong I seem, tears flow as I cry;
These monsters tear down my soul and dig through my brain;
They leave scars their wake and make me feel insane;
They whisper "your a hypochondriac - an attention seeker";
With each new monster in my head my future seems bleaker;
I watch helplessly as they tear apart my memories - ones that'll never return;
The monsters laugh as they throw my memories into the fire and watch them burn;
These monsters control everything I do - from morning til night;
Each time I try and break free I lose the fight;
They destroy everything: my future, health, and social life;
They convince me I'm a burned and cause my family strife;
Every time I wanna do something - their always in my head;
"Would you want to do that or do you wanna spend the next week in bed?";
They've caused my friends to back away and run as they leave;
With each friend I lose I feel like a freak - I don't know what to believe;
They've left my family torn between 2 sides: faking or real;
But sometimes I don't think they realize how that makes me feel;
The monsters have stolen everything - what dud I do wrong?;
People call me an "inspiration" - but I feel the least bit strong;
These monsters are chronic illness in disguise;
I try my hardest to hold it tpgther but eventually I cry;
Chronic illness is so real but their often invisible to the naked eye;
We may seem fine on the outside but remember to take a better look on the inside;
These monsters are life-stealers and have causes so much pain;
They've convinced you that, no matter what you say = your the one to blame;
They claw, scratch, rip, and tear you up from the inside;
It feels like, no matter what you do, there's no place you can hide;
Monsters whither in my brain and whisper in my ears;
They've taken over my life - which was one of my biggest fears;
Monsters howl in the night - leaving me wide awake;
I used to feel invincible but then the monsters came - how much more can I take?
