The Monster

You never believed in monsters
Untill you got to know me
You never knew that ghosts existed
Untill you saw me leave
You never knew the meaning of mistakes
Untill I showed you how they were made
You never knew love could be fake
Untill you watched ours fade
You never expected to see the day
Where I could destroy us both
You never thought you could drown
Untill I sank the boat

You never believed in monsters
Untill you got to know me
So kill me now
As only you know how
And set the monster free
