The Mission Viator

In an instant blanketed with a saudade,
the parking lot’s never been so bloated.
I guess now the cat’s out of the bag,
without the cars something is missing.

That shared goal held us all together,
in an instant blanketed with a saudade.
Competition erased hybrid’s in place,
the once bustling office now half-empty.

Streamlining disconnected the approach
now scripted we’re little more than robots.
In an instant blanketed with a saudade,
once the mission felt more like friends.

Brought back to life by a celebration
I sit gazing at this vision of the past.
An imitation of what will never be again,
in an instant blanketed with a saudade.
