The Mirror View
I looked into the mirror today.
What I saw was a shock.
What I seen was the unexplained.
I didn’t know the person staring back at me.
Part woman and part girl I’m guessing.
Whomever she may be.
She lost hope one day.
Now here she stands.
Asking herself a few questions.
Who are you?
What exactly are you doing?
Do you know your purpose?
Who are you listening to?
I know that she hoped it was her heart she was following.
Realizing she should of done so from the start.
Lost in this huge maze.
Everything looked foggy.
Not totally clear to her.
She thinks that she don’t belong here.
If she’s so right
Are these good dreams at night?
Why has she not been able to break free?
When will she have her chance to flee?
She seems a stranger to me.
Searching for lost tracks.
Trying to get the real facts.
Still I stand here wondering…
Who is that in that mirror today?
