The Mind Body Connection

As years go on, old age will beckon
Beckon you, live life in a different way.
Way in which your old body operates
Operates as it often begins to fray.

Fray it will, but is that such a burden?
Burden enough to make you kneel and pray.
Pray you can take whatever life dictates
Dictates when nature will have her say.

Say she will, sometimes you’ll be broken
Broken, you’ll still want to go out to play
Play, but then another question awaits
Awaits for your younger side to weigh…

Weigh all the risk, now I might reckon
Reckon I am much too old and too gray
Gray hair, yes, but my strong will mandates
Mandates each day that I’ll be here to stay!

Stay strong of mind, try not to be beaten
Beaten, I might have to stretch out to lay
Lay for a bit while the pain abates
Abates it does, now I’m on my way!
