The Mighty Fall and We'Re At the Top
Never an academic
tragic at school
I just didn't get it
I learned bugger all
But is a desk natural
just look at a book
a pen and some paper
write what you took
all that sitting down still
not an evolutionary skill
long grass in a field
with teamwork to kill
the fact is hunting is learning
coordination and communication
synced movement not disturbing
alert, brave, unification
the strong and the tall
were the alpha mammal
but now it's the book worm
taking their turn
we look to intelligence
to guide us along
it's now mental relevance
over physically strong
now the alpha's the clever
they think up solutions
we forget the athletic
who enabled us humans
we needed the torso the legs and the arms
we needed the brain like we needed the palms
now we need eyes brains fingers and tongues
humans evolved to do less than they've done
apex at the top
but maybe that's your lot
the mighty do fall
when they slow down or stop
