The Midnight Hour

It was a dark and silent
starless night
I was hoping to see
just a glimpse of light
trapped in the trenches
of life's despair
praying that my Savior
would hurry and appear
the midnight hour
the cross over to a new day
just waiting for my Lord to come
and show me the way
