The Meaning of Life
Life means the capacity to grow
In our youth we grow physically
Intellectually, spiritually
This we all know
But as adults must we continue to grow
From my vantage point, I would say so
Life means the capacity to reproduce too
No news there; that's the traditional view
Some today choose not to propagate
Others start early; they don't want to wait
Life's also characterized by activity
For which most of us show a marked proclivity
Living organisms undergo continual change
Multifold processes, expansive range
So, the meaning of life is contained in each breath
As long as we're alive -- the opposite of death
