The Mask

Each day as I awake to face another endless task, before I show my face outside the door I don the mask, So no-one see's the real me,it's a front ['n' that's a cert],the mask it's my security prevents me getting hurt, A wall that i can hide behind,a door that I can lock,if I let you glimpse the real me you'd be in for quite a shock, See,I wouldn't last five minutes in this game and please believe, for the little girl lost inside of me's so vulnerable, naive, see when the Crack life found me 'n' I got hooked on this bad stuff,I knew I'd never make the day l'est I became more tough, So I worked on my performence and I played the leading role, and to be a smarter wiser, tougher girl it was my goal, Well I learned my lines wiyth accuracy no-one taught me how,and I played the part 'til I became the person you see now, But don't you get too close or I shall put you in your place,l'est you should try to look behind the mask that hides my face.
