The Man of My Life

THE MAN OF MY LIFE

You contact me and say lets meet
Maybe we will grab something to eat
We have our interesting little chats
Even a couple of unintended spats

Your voice is ringing in my head
On nights I toss and turn in bed
Yearning to be held in your arms
Wanting to know all your charms

The day came for you to appear
All I wanted to do was cheer
I sat outside waiting for you
I thought are you excited too

When you approached me at the door
Your touch went right it to the core
My heart grew wings like a dove
I just knew I would fall in love

Now we were married for many years
We worked through all of the tears
My heart still has the wings
When you are near it sings
