The Man and His Shadow

There's a man and his shadow
They only lived for each other
Not a single person other
They did everything together
No matter the weather
Until the day he was dead
The man's best friend
The only person that he ever needed
Just an image in his head

There was a man and his shadow

Never was there a person who ended up with true happiness by being selfish! I enjoyed the personification of the shadow - almost symbolic of how that selfish nature is always there for you... but when you're gone he's gone too. No legacy being passed on.
