The Magnolia Tree Is Bare
The magnolia tree on the corner now stands bare
Before the rain it was covered in showy white flowers,
Where honeybees busily gathered for the sweet nectar
It was so lovely all the close neighbors came to stare,
Knowing its moment of glory would be brief this year
Everyone on our street marveled at her beauty there,
Wanting to do everything we could to protect her
So that everyone could enjoy her pleasant bowers,
The magnolia tree on the corner now stands bare.
