Author's Notes: "The Magic of Love's First Moment" is a couplet I just completed on February 02, 2018. My intent with this poem was to try to depict a realistic and viable word picture of some of the principal attributes that one might expect to see when discussing the complex theme of love. And, I also touch on some of the very special aspects reflecting the "magic of love's first moment" as it transpires and is felt individually and together by two people who have been so destined to meet, and possibly to spend the rest of the their lives together. There is obviously something here to think about, I believe, for any of us who have felt first-hand the sting of Cupid's mythical arrow. Here's to romance, love, and happiness!! The Magic of Love’s First Moment It’s a very special time when suddenly you can’t eat, And your thoughts and emotions are not all rational. Your emotions ‘n heart are set afire and so is your blood, As nothing makes sense—then everything makes sense! You have all the words you want to say to your new love, Yet you find no words pass from your lips to affirm all! One of life’s mysterious surprises—yet one so very real; One of life’s grand and puzzling Gordian Knots so true! Emotions, feelings, hopes, fears—each with its singularity; All clashing together all at once and providing no clarity! Yes, this is that initial feeling and moment of truest passion, When one’s blood warms to red-hot and emotions run amok! This magic of love’s first moment is a marvel for all to behold; It reflects love’s complexity and its precious nature to be retold! Yes Arturo my friend!! I do agree with you 100% on this. No one is immune from the first effects of love. There is no defense for the reach of its emotive power on all of us. The first experience is usually the one that most of us remember the best. Best Always!! Gary

Amen Maria!! You're right for sure here . . . one never does forget the confusion of those particular emotions. A rite of passage -- if you will -- all part of growing up when everyone experiences (and learns hopefully) the range of emotions and feelings, and how to handle them -- if possible!! Have a great weekend!! Cheers, Gary

Hello Vijay, Yes -- you've captured the essence here quite aptly. True love is something deeply felt, and takes much time to mature far beyond the first fiery-fantastic meeting of two people who've found one another. Cheers and Best, Gary

I believe you captured the emotions perfectly.. If someone has not felt these emotions, then they have not really loved... Great poem Gary

Hello Silent!! You are spot-on for sure here with what you've said. I do think when we all are older we begin to think more deeply in retrospect of what really constitutes the emotions and feelings as they relate to love and being love. Best Always, Gary
