The Magic of Love

I scribble in the sand
While you write a masterpiece
My simple lyrics like a snack
You are a chef and make a feast
I fight to find a muse
While yours are running out of space
My aviator is blank
Yours is your beautiful face

I am Mars
And you are Venus
Nothing alike
But nothing between us
Opposites attract
No one could understand
How you could be my girl
And I could be you man
..The magic of love

My lines are very simple
While you know every form
On Soup I'm just a rookie
You've been writing since you were born
My taste is very narrow
While your pallet is quite complex
I'd never win a contest
You're already on to the next

I am Mars
And you are Venus
Nothing alike
But nothing between us
Opposites attract
No one could understand
How you could be my girl
And I could be you man
..The magic of love

You are salt
And I am pepper
Night and day
But we go together
Hand in hand
Just you and me
What we feel inside
No one else can see

I am Mars
And you are Venus
Nothing alike
But nothing between us
Opposites attract
No one could understand
How you could be my girl
And I could be you man
..The magic of love

~Lyric Man

Note: This is a write about two poets who found romance. Their life and writing styles have nothing in common but the two are inseparable.. yeah, that's the magic of love!

Nice use of opposing images reminds me of the song 'The whole of the moon' by the water boys I like the cut of your cloth Tim

Love is truly a magical place that we visit . I have come up with two lyrics that have got stuck in my head. "I didn't mean to steal your thunder, I didn't mean to put you under." any chance you can come up with a sequel to this.

Lyric Man, thank you for the soul you breathe into this poem. I like the verisimilitude you project. Continue feeding us with this poetic nourishment. Big up! John

Thanks Susan.. I hope my style comes off as authentic. All my writes are based in truth. They're not all my truth. I could be writing about a friend or someone I know. What I hope that does is make my work incredibly believable and therefore relatable. Oops.. sorry for going on so much!
