The Maelstrom

(A lone voice whispers.)

In the deepest of silence
I always walk

Into my own created Maelstrom of Defiance

As memories of you
Slowly like the winter fog

Rolls in and returns

With a soft hint of a time
That was priceless

With a slight shiver
Running
Down my spine

That burns

And the air fills with that
So familiar pulsating scent

Of Chanel N°5
That makes me wilt and pine

An imagination mind trick that if I told any doctor

Would put me straight into any asylum

I then usually feel your presence
And visually embrace

All those lingering thoughts and images

Of everywhere
We once went

Before our descent
From grace

When I look in our old silver mirror

Where I still see your dark eyes looking back

Which carries a hint of your sweet smile

I once used to call
Heaven sent

But when those loving sensations fade

And life winds
Once more

Blows
My way

Returning me to reality island

Just know
My twin flame

In my Eternal White Room

I'll carry you and your name

Deep inside
Wherever I go

For your husky voice
Always

Always
Rides and rules

My internal highways

Like a reborn Gail
In a New Sin City

A place I call to try to
Forgiveness

When Doubt calls
And I remember

Why I feel so guilty
