The Madness Coming Down

She’s feeling trapped & afraid and she’s sure that everybody spies
She’s no longer the girl she once was with bright sparkling eyes

Did it happen quickly, one day did her mind just suddenly explode?
Or did it happen slowly over time so that nothing really showed?

Now she cowers in a corner because to her monsters are real
Society looks at her with pity we're not really sure how to deal

We wonder how she got that way as we all turn away in shame
If society does nothing should we shoulder some of the blame?

Now she lives in a doorway and she’s too afraid to come out
Because the shadows will protect her of this she has no doubt

Who knows what it feels like and who can wrap their head around
What happens to a broken mind when the madness comes down

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
