The Lullaby

Sweet, sweet eyes, Soft, soft smile, So sleep, sleep, Child sleep awhile. Let light be the shade, O’er your delicate eyes. Let worry now fade, And the future be your prize. Rest easy now child, Our Father does watch us, Weep not, dear child, For he will save us. Let love be the guide, That lights your troubled way, You need not hide, From His cheering sun rays. We lambs are loved, Forever & Forever. So live & live my belov’d, And weep & weep never. Listen and hear his voice, He cries for thee, He smiles with thee, He loves thee. And so let Heaven and Earth rejoice! For the child is forever free! And so, my child, 'tis time, To end our mind play, As we hear the chime, And listen, as forever I say: I love you. Sweet, sweet eyes, Soft, soft smile, So sleep, sleep, Child sleep awhile.

It's a beautiful Lullaby,I will give you that . It carries a very delicate approach to it . However, the Phrases like “O’er your delicate eyes” and “For the child is forever free” add a classical feel, but they contrast slightly with the poem’s otherwise modern simplicity. If the goal is to be timeless be timeless. Also incorporate more tangible imagery. Beautiful poem non the less . Very Captivating to read .
