The Lucky Break

This is my home
Trapped within a glass jar
watching the world go on by.
I have only twigs and leaves
no longer allowed to roam.
To unknown destinations afar.
no space to flutter and fly.

The weather is getting bad
trees branches sway back and forth.
sky getting darker as rain begins.
thunder rumbles , lightening strikes
Worst storm we've ever had.
I don't want to be here anymore.
I hear the howeling of the wind.

lightening strikes the tree outside
crashing it into the window pane
sending things flying in the air
Oh! My jar falls off of the table
with the wall I will collide.
This is my chance to get away
To leave this place if I dare
Will I be ready and able?
