The Lover's Moon

Two people sit alone at night
Underneath the lover's moon
Praying that this war will end
And to see each other soon

She knows he has to go away
For his country calls his name
She asks the Lord to keep him safe
As the early morning came

She waves goodbye one last time
As the tears fall from her eyes
Each time she sees the evening news
She hangs her head and cries

And then one sunday morning
A car pulls up outside
She falls to the floor an empty shell
Broken and lost inside

A widow sits alone at night
Underneath the lover's moon
Praying for God to take her home
To see her husband soon
