The Love Letter

Have you ever drowned inside the sea of someone else's eyes?
Have you ever felt that you could see inside the soul's confines?

I've known what it can be to be a tear that drops to dust
A contemplated emptiness expressed, then quickly crushed
Apotheosed upon a page of love expressed, unknown
A salient star that fell so far, a crystalled cry so lone
A picture, painted, perfect in three words so overused
A flitting fancy that, perhaps, a soul might interfuse

He writes, as tears yet flood the page of empty thoughts transposed
He writes, he cries out all the things that she will never know
