The Love For You

There was a day that I recall
A time in my life that I was your wife
The words of love overfilled our cup
The blind could see and the deaf could hear
The love you had for me.

There was a day for I still know
Of birds that sing of love
And the sun shine bright
A feeling you get when you know its right
I know how much I love you still to this day...

Each night we spoke three words
Each night they grew and grew
I love you were spoken so comen
Tears never were sad but of joy.

The world can change a person
And that's how you slipped through my hands
I kept grabbing on hoping you'd still be here
Nights became long on me waiting to see your face
Weeks became forever just to hear your voice
A deployment became a lifetime of how things changed....

I must say I never changed
Grew up to say the least
Though my feelings have stayed the same....
One look at me you shall shurly see
The love for you that stayed with me.
