The Lost Lullaby

If memories could take me back
To a better time and place
Instead of feeling bleak and black
I’d get to see your face

Oh how did we get here?
Time sure does fly
 I still shed a tear
Singing the lost lullaby

The only thing I ever wish
Is for you to remember me
But yet you’ve left like a fish
That swam away to another sea

Oh how did we get here?
Please tell me why
When I realize you won’t be near
I cry a lost lullaby

Now that you’re gone
I’ve been forgotten and tossed
I remember the song
The lullaby that was lost

Oh how did we get here?
What you wrote was a lie
Please don’t disappear
Like the lost lullaby

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
