The Lost Bog

encountered last Spring...exuberantly too far,
hiking deep in a Minnesota forest-bog, almost
dreamlike... Mosquito clouds engulfed me
                                                            ...james

Silent zeroes flood my reflex memory
Mosquito clouds so thick to breathe
Meant inhaling dozens

Smiles and scorns at Springs first leap
Of freedom deep in a hidden forest bog

Bouncing leaps of retreat

Time froze

I glanced across a frozen universe
Scars finely creased with age
Memories still fresh

'Ancient Boulders' it is said in stories

Still vibrate with sacred chants
Audible to the chosen ones

Ears worthy of silence

       Ears worthy

             Of

                    Silence

They say God invented Mosquito's to protect such beautiful places as these, and, yes, some vibrations are eternal, amazing stuff . . . ; )

Bogs and mosquitoes are not my cup of tea, Jimbo, but they sure are good ingredients for writing an excellent poem! Regards // paul

JMG, You also have quite a female senator. Can't believe America threw out all of Hillary's education and experience. There has to be a more objective, constructive way of politicking removing human emotion and prejudice out of the picture. Oh, well. Get rid of parties.
