The Looking Glass

The mirror tells us many things
You smile as you see your past
It reminds us of our hopes and dreams
That somehow never lasts

It sees our imperfections
That we're always trying to hide
It even sees our inner fears
That are hidden deep inside

The mirror's reflection never lies
It shows us who we are
We see the one we used to be
And the one who's come so far

It's eyes are always watching us
As we try to return it's stare
No matter where you go in life
It will always meet you there

Sometimes, it's our sounding board
For the things we need to say
It never makes suggestions
So, you'll always get you way

It will even watch us walk away
Knowing we'll soon return
For by looking in the mirror
There's so much we can learn
