The Lonely Dancer
Headway to gain in search of the rain,
This drought has killed all except for the pain.
Invincible thoughts my body's a drain,
Continuing forward while feeling insane.
Resentment and struggle a sight of remorse.
Beatings and thrashings upon a dead horse.
From yelling and screaming my throat becomes coarse.
The words have all vanished there's nothing to force.
My head hung so low it drags at my feet,
A vision of agony alone in the street.
Mercy for others burned by the heat,
Blinded by lust and tempted to cheat.
Life as a slave my body's a drum,
Been running so long my feet have turned numb.
Contained by a culture of faith leaves me none.
No sun in the sky oblique as they come.
Frantically searching the dark for an answer,
Constantly waiting, but time is a cancer.
No longer a lover or a secret romancer,
Seclusion labels my soul - The lonely dancer.
#forever alone
