The Loneliness Within Me

The loneliness within me 
Is begging you to love me
I want to reach out for you
And pull you into me.

Though  I know 
If I do such a thing
You would run faster 
Then I could blink an eye.

The loneliness within me
Reaches clear down 
Through my soul
It cuts me like a dagger.

I watch the blood spilling  over 
From the pieces of my heart 
The blood goes where it wants to  
As I try to catch it before it  falls 
Before it splashes onto the floor.

The loneliness within me 
Is reaching out for you 
As the blood spills over 
You stand there with indifference.


All I'm catching in my hands are 
The pieces of my shattered heart!
