Notes About The Poem

The Lizard

A lizard eyes me,
and I, too, eye him
with mutual respect.

The sun warms
the leathery skin
we wear to great effect.

A really like this one. There is a certain similarity of lizards to people, but I don't know exactly what it is. Both are somewhat athletically inclined. So welcome, brother lizard.

Haha, I liked this one too. I don't know if it was because it was hot yesterday, but one of them was acting crazy, moving really fast. As I was sliding open the screen, it jumped out of nowhere onto the screen and then jumped away. I think he might have wanted to come inside and cool off.
