The Little Black Dress
We, who can see,
Love colours.
Vibrant and bright
Colours of different hues
All-seeing eyes delight.
Flame red can be dangerous,
For any girl to wear,
Red denotes passion,
Fellows, please beware.
Yellow is more mellow,
A coward's colour for sure,
If you meet a cowardly man,
Quickly show him the door!
Blue is a happy colour,
It makes one's heart sing
"In the blue of the night,"
Do you remember Bing?
Green is a restful colour,
If you are feeling blue
Go for a walk in the country.
Green will bring peace to you.
Pink a pretty shade,
Pastel and very sweet.
Lasses who dress in pink
Look sweet enough to eat.
There are dark colours,
Like sombre Grey,
Although this can look very smart
It's not bright or gay.
Black can be a certainty,
To make people feel depressed.
Why, then, in every girl's wardrobe,
Hang's an elegant little black dress.
